I found the place is a family resort type hotel (all inclusive...etc) I believe I paid more than the other customers registered as "all inclusive"... Also, pool closes at 6pm : simply not acceptable.

The hotel offered a panorama from my balcony that was breathtaking. The stay at this hotel was everything I had dreamed about experiencing in a hotel stay and of course about Sorrento! Maria

It was a llittle out of the way but they did have a bus to carry visitors to the center of town.

We stayed in Hotel Vesuvio for 4 days during our holiday on the Amalfi coast. Primarily we chose this hotel because of its low price. This is because of the hotels location as it is outside the centre of Sorrento. However, the hotel offers an extremely efficient shuttle bus service to & from the centre of Sorrento. This service is free of charge and very reliable. The last bus back to the hotel is at 23:15. The pool area at the hotel is second to none-spotlessly clean and there were lots of sunbeds for the large amount of guests that the hotel accommodates. The breakfast was also very impressive....a large selection catering for all needs.

The Hotel has a shuttle bus that take you back and forth In to town. Vey nice driver. The balcony in the evenings is wonderful , to sit and have a drink with waiters available was very nice . A formal dining area for breakfast and a lot of variety and choices. Wonderful meal to start the day. The view is something to remember.

The walls are so thin we could hear someone being sick in the next room. The stuffed sitting chair in our room was stained on the seat, I would not use it. Pillows were very hard and flat. For the rate we paid, I expected a better bed. Staff were not very informative nor friendly.

Nice view of the Gulf of Napels.

Hotel is due a rennovation. Rooms and bathrooms are outdated (e.g. peeling paintwork). Breakfast is very basic (e.g. tinned fruit, instant coffee). Not what you would expect for a hotel of this price category.

Double Superior Room with Sea View - Bigger than the other rooms with a better bathroom. Private balcony and lovely views across the bay to Vesuvius. Lovely pool, plenty of sunbeds around the pool and not too busy. Very friendly and helpful staff.

There was no information about hotel services and facilities or places to visit and local transport.

Totally characterless, poor facade no attempt at good design full of large package holiday groups. Poor food including coffee. Despite the nice room and marble reception felt like a budget package holiday hotel. Would not stay there again or recommend it

Free wifi, excellent view, clean rooms and friendly staffs.

far from the city central, the shuttle bus was often more than full, people were fighting to get on the bus at weekend. the pool was only opened until 6pm. breakfast was too boring.

Pool was great. Also, free hotel bus to centre of Sorrento. Sea view of bay was spectacular. Gym was very handy.

Paid for a deluxe room and small seatin area was complete waste of space. Feel of a package holiday but nice atmosphere.

Fantastic view off vesuvius and the bay of naples. Great pool. Nice coffee at breakfast. Reliable bs service.

We just can't say enough good things about this truly grand hotel. It is by far the best of the 3 hotels we stayed at during our recent visit to Italy. When I booked Grand Hotel Vesuvio I knew it looked great but did not expect how wonderful this hotel was when we arrived. Everything is beautiful about it. The hotel is extremely well kept. The lobby is huge, it has a very large front desk, and is decorated with marble flooring and tasteful furniture throughout. The staff is helpful, attentive, knowledgeable and speak English as well. The elevators worked great and were prompt. The room is large, clean, and comfortable and we had a balcony we could sit on in the late evening. We cannot say enough about the wonderful buffet breakfast which is served in a huge ballroom with the service of about at least 10 waiting staff to attend to your every desire. The surrounding property is like paradise with beautiful flowers,trees, and a huge outdoor olympic-sized pool which is magnificent. You can lay in the sun on their outdoor lounging chairs which are very abundant around the property and on the pool deck.They offer a free shuttle bus into the city of Sorrento which is so convenient and travels from 9 am until past 11:00 pm about every half hour so you can come and go at your leisure. The shopping and dining in the city centre of Sorrento is fabulous. You can buy just about anything from clothes, to shoes, to souvenirs, to gelato and wonderful food of every kind. Not to mention the location of this hotel is on a hilltop in the Bay of Naples across from the Vesuvius and Pompeii. You can get there by train from just about anywhere in Italy and the train rides are inexpensive. The train and bus station is a short walk from the Sorrento city centre where you can get to by the free shuttle bus from the hotel. We went to Pompeii using the train which takes about 1/2 hour and cost 4 euros round trip each person.

Reasonnable price for a nice room and a balcony with the view on the Napoli Bay. The swimming pool is big enough to swin.

Breakfast is just not good...that's unfortunate considering the quality of the hotel.

The hotel is one mile from Sorrento but the courtesy bus was very reliable and had guests at their destination in 5minutes. I initially thought that we might be staying a little far out from the town but on reflection I think the hotel was perfectly placed away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to commute to in a few minutes. Pool area is very pleasant. Beautiful views.

Generally, we had a very pleasant stay. This would have been made more so if the staff were a little more cheery and perhaps even cracked a smile once in a while. From our check in for a full week the reception and waiting staff addressed us with bored disinterest. There are two exceptions to this: the gentleman running the poolside restaurant who always smiled and was pleasant and and the manager at breakfast our last morning (he must have been away for the week of out stay) who greeted us warmly and chit-chatted - I think his name was Gino.
